Living in a relatively peaceful environment, we often overlook or fail to remember the significance of historical events. The 228 Incident is an appalling tragedy in Taiwan’s history. However, apart from the discussion that occurs during Memorial Day, the history of this tragic incident is slowly fading from the public consciousness in modern society.
The 228 Memorial Monuments, situated in the corners of various counties in Taiwan, stand as symbols of the 228 Incident and pay tribute to what has happened in the past. These monuments embody the pursuit of justice and human rights in contemporary society. However, people pass by these memorial sites without giving them much attention or understanding their profound significance.
History should not be forgotten, as it provides us with the opportunity to reflect and grow. The 228 Memorial Monuments represent the sounds of silence. Yet, it appears that we, in our pursuit of a comfortable and affluent modern lifestyle, have chosen to remain silent about the sufferings and sacrifices of this historical chapter.

在一個相對和平的環境中，我們總是容易忽視或遺忘了歷史事件的重要性。228事件是台灣歷史上一個嚴重的悲劇，但在當今社會中，它的存在除了在特定紀念日被提及討論之外，慢慢的消失在人們的視野裡。
228紀念碑是228事件的象徵，它矗立散佈在台灣的各個縣市角落，是一種對過去的敬意，同時也是對當代社會中的正義和人權議題的探索。然而，人們走過它，卻未必真正關注或理解其背後的意義。
